The Guru and the Pandit are of course spiritual teacher Andrew Cohen and Integral philosopher Ken Wilber, as many will know from their ground-breaking dialogues in EnlightenNext magazine. Now the magazine is no longer in print, what better news than to hear they are back in 2012 with a new series of four live Guru and Pandit audio webcast Q&A sessions taking place consecutively through the rest of the year.

First up on June 2nd, is “Sexual Ethics.”

What a provocative topic this is! It feels like one is treading on sacred territory to even question if there needs to be a relationship between sex and ethics in our highly sexualized culture today, where as long as one is not overtly hurting anybody or breaking the law everything is seen as equally valid.
This article in a previous issue of EnlightenNext magazine sets a great context for this predicament  and further on the subject these recent blog posts of Andrew Cohen’s

Karma Free Sex

I learned more about sex when i gave it up

So should there be a relationship between sex and ethics beyond what our culture determines for us? What gives me greater cause for sober reflection about this is the extent to which even our spiritual leaders seem unable to demonstrate any example. And it’s not just the Catholic Church, but what is happening in the “leading edge” of the spiritual world where so many/most? of the highly respected and apparently coolest spiritual teachers around, when it comes to sex (usually with their own students), seem to have lost the plot to an extent that really does boggle the mind….

Time to call on the Guru and Pandit for some much needed sanity!
